Then I began having severe mottling of my lower extremities along with +3 edema--I showed my doctor who gave me no answers and no suggestions. Could you voice an opinion.

Brief Answer:
Common causes are venous insufficiency, kidney problems..liver disease.....

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this swelling that you have reported. The fact that you already had a varicose vein makes it more likely for this to be caused by venous insufficiency. In this condition, the veins are unable to pump blood back to the heart and as a result there is a pooling of blood in the lower limbs. This would usually get worse when you sit for long and almost absent in the early hours of the morning.

However, there are other possible causes of this condition. Liver diseases, heart diseases, kidney diseases and malnutrition. I will like to see that this is looked into to make sure that we are handling the right condition.

Only after that would we be able to talk with precision. Talk to your doctor about this.

I hope this helps. Do not hesitate to get back to me if need be. Thanks for using our services.
