What Causes Redness In Penis With A History Of HSV-2?

default
Posted on Thu, 30 Jun 2016
Question: I am a 67 year old male. I was diagnosed with HSV 2 three years ago with only very small pimples near the base of my penis. I have had no outbreak since then. However, Over the past 6 months following sexual intercourse with a female I've had red/pink around the shaft of my penis. Perhaps of more concern is the red sore-like spots only on the scar tissue where I was circumcised.
1. Could an HSV 2 outbreak last this long (2 months)?
2. Could the circle be the result of friction during intercourse? If so, would they likely remain visible for 2 months with no intercourse of masturbation?
3. The very red spots (look like sores) on the scar tissue be anything other than HSV 2? I'm have no intercourse yet these symptoms have remained for two months. Does the penis skin become more thin with age as skin does in most other locations on the body?

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health care magic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. The redness could be due to a number of reasons including HSV-2 as well as friction during intercouse or masturbation. But it is unlikely to have persisted this long. I would insist you to upload an image for me to evaluate.

The skin over penis is usually quite thin.
