What Causes Recurring Pain In Fingers And Wrist?

default
Posted on Mon, 16 Mar 2015
Question: I have a coming and going pain in my fingers and wrists since last 20 days. This happened after I stretched my hands a lot while playing with my child. From next day onwards I had pain in my wrist and it was acute. I applied volini and with that it disappeared. Next day onwards it has been appearing in one finger, disappearing and next day develops elsewhere in the hand. Local doctor said its a muscle spasm and gave a medicine. With tht pain intensity reduced but it's still continuing. Uric acid level, thyroid and calcium are in normal range. Calcium is 8.9 . If I pick something heavy or my child pain comes back. Pain normally occurs in between the two joints of the finger. Please give me a solution to this problem. I am very much worried. My age is 31 and I am a female.

Brief Answer:
Rule out vitamin D deficiency.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I'm Dr Sudhir Kumar

I have gone through your query and understand your concern.Your pain may be related to weakness and deficiency of vitamins and trace elements. You can be benefitted by multivitamins supplements along with trace elements supplements. You can take analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief. You can get your vitamin D level as vitamin D deficiency is important cause of such musculoskeletal pains. If found low you can take vitamin D3 supplements. You can exclude local cause by x ray of hand. You can discuss with your doctor about it.

Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then I will be happy to help you.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
