Question: hi my name is XXXXXXX from XXXXXXX i have had repeated bronchitis which was not properly diagonised so at date i get repeated infection begins with sputum and lots, weight losss due to loss in appetite, and breathlessness.
my ct scan done in sept14 is attached.i have been given anti biotics but the problem persists.as the ct scan shows that not all of lungs are bad,and also if some dead tissues are removed by surgery then my problem might be solved to a great extent.also my breathlessness will be taken care of.though i have breathlessness i am able to take a full breath.

Brief Answer:
Get done PFT.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the report.
In my opinion, you should get done PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) to know the severity of the bronchitis.
And treatment of bronchitis is based on severity.
So please let me know
1. What is your recent PFT report?
2. Which drugs you are taking at present? Are you taking any inhaled treatment?
3. Are you smoker?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.

DEAR RESPECTED DOCTOR,
I am unable to upload the ct scan because it appears only black after scanning. i am uploading xray.
i have recently not done ct scan last on sept 14.
i have not undergone 2d echo ever.
i do not inhale anything.
i am not a smoker.but repeated untreated bronchitis is the answer.

Brief Answer:
Surgery is the last option.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Before surgery, patient must have taken optimal medical treatment.
Inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) are main line therapy for bronchitis.
So you should first start inhaled treatment.
If this fails than surgical option can be considered.
So direct surgery is not advisable. You should first take optimal treatment for bronchitis.
Please let me know your exact symptoms, so that I can guide you better.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
