What Causes Rashes Around Forehead And Eyebrows After Applying Balm For Headache?

Question: Hello doctor,
My wife aged 30 years is having rashes on her forehead and around eyebrows after applying a balm for head ache.she is applying calamine lotion since 2 days and took citrizine 2 tabs each night, however the rashes seem to reduce but still there .kindly advice

Hi,

Thanks for the images.

I have seen the images and the rashes appear to be due to contact dermatitis, an allergic response to the balm.

This is not serious, since the balm can get diffused into the layers of the skin , the allergy too is a bit long lasting. Calamine lotion and cetrizine would surely cure the condition. Let her take tab Levocetrizine 5 mg for itching once in the night before sleep for not more than 5 days.

Let her continue to apply the calamine lotion.
