What Causes Rapid Heart Beat Post Intake Of Claritin-D?

Question: Hello!

Two nights ago around 10pm I took a Claritin-D 24 hour. I went to sleep and 3 hours later I woke up with my heart racing and could not go back to bed. I also felt very hot as well and was thinking weird thoughts (not by choice). I got ready for work at 5am and drank of cup of coffee. At 9am I had another cup of coffee. (I know I probably shouldn't have had the coffee) as it did not help my heart rate. My heart rate was in the 110s all day yesterday. Do you think that was due to the claritin? I've never had any heart problems. My pulse is normally in the 60s or 70s at rest.

Today i've been checking my pulse and it will be at for example 65 and then two minutes later it will be at 72. Is it a problem that it's jumping around like that? Now I'm thinking that I am just very anxious.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Hello. This is from the D part of the Claritin

Detailed Answer:
Hello. The Claritin-D also contains pseudoephedrine which is a decongestant that does raise heart rate. The pulse running from 65 to 72 isn't really anything to worry about. No heart problem with any of this
