What Causes Random Pain In Knee Joint?

default
Posted on Wed, 12 Oct 2016
Question: 29 years old overweight male who hasnt played sports as an adult;

2 questions;
I'm curious as to what might cause random knee joint pain one day that hasn't gone away (more than a week now). I don't recall injuring it and the pain has not subsided (it's on the lateral and medial sides of the left knee, that I notice when I abduct/adduct specifically.
I'm wondering if this has to do with me crossing that leg under my other one when I sit in my chair (for a few hours a day).

The other question has to do with my the under-inner part of my right foot (just behind the big toe). This too has been around for a few days but not as long as the knee issue. This, I'm wondering if it has to do with my evening jobs work boots (but it's only in one foot).

I'm curious if both of these are related to some type of arthritis or diabetes or something.

Brief Answer:
Need to rule out ligament damage

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir

I can certainly understand your concern.

I have worked through your query in detail.

Many of your symptoms are strongly related to your athletic activity .

With regards to knee, there is a possibility of ligament damage .It's very important to get an early MRI of the knee to decide further course of action.

The foot issues are caused by work boots.C ange of boots to lore cushioned one's can eliminate this foot pain.

These symptoms are not related to Diabetes or Arthritis.

Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe you these imaging tests.

Further management if any is largely based on test results.

Thank you.

But i havent played sports for about 20 years, so i dont understand how it would be athletic related. Is there a way to get an mri without going to the ER? This doesnt sound like gout correct?
