What Causes Productive Cough, Nasal Drainage And Chest Discomfort Post Withdrawal Of Premarin?

Question: I have had what I believe to be a sinus infection in the past month. I continue to have significant nasal drainage, pooling of mucous in throat, some coughing. In addition to these symptoms, I have had palpitations, chest discomfort at the time, a little dizziness. I recently weaned off Premarin after 30 yrs.!
Now I'm having hot flashes (yay). Can all these symptoms be related or separate entities?

Premarin is conjugated Estrogen pills.
Since you are weaning off from it, possibility of hormonal imbalance is more.

And hot flushing, chest discomfort, palpitations, dizziness etc can be seen due to hormonal imbalance.
Your throat symptoms are mostly due to upper respiratory tract infection (URTI).

These throat symptoms are not seem to connected with Premarin weaning off.

So better to get done hormone levels to rule out hormonal imbalance.

Consult ENT doctor and get done clinical examination of throat for your throat symptoms.
