Brief Answer:
Detail required

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,

Thank you for your query.
Is your remote memory is affected or recent or long term memory affected?

Since 1 year you are having memory problem but is there any other problem associated with it like sadness of mood, loss of interest, lack of concentration, sleep disturbance etc..?

Is there any medical illness you have like Diabetes, hypertension etc...?
Is there any history of head injury or any accident?

As 28 years of age it is rare to have dementia except if any concomitant medical illness.
Sometimes due to lack of concentration also one can not remember what he or she wore day before or day before yesterday.

So For proper diagnose and treatment required detail.
Is there any investigation you done till now?

Awaiting your response.

Thank you

Hi Doctor,

Thank you so much for your reply.

I have no medical illness as such and no head injury.

It is like my long term memory is also not very clear and I don't remember everything (each and every detail) about past. Even my short term memory is also not so good and I take time to answer somebody's question about what I ate yesterday...Or sometimes it is difficult for me to recall what I was wearing yesterday.

I have faced problems which you mentioned liked sadness of mood, loss of interest, lack of concentration, sleep disturbance in the past 1 year.

Please help.

Brief Answer:
Depression.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,

as you have sadness of mood, loss of interest etc symptoms suggest that you might have depression.
Memory problem is also one component of depression.
it is called pseudo dementia.

Not to worry .

For my patients I treat with medication like SSRI (selective serotonin re uptake inhibitor ), SNRI (serotonin and nor epinephrine re uptake inhibitor), NASA (nor epinephrine and serotonin antagonist ) etc which helps you a lot.
To start medication you need to consult a psychiatrist.

Also do Investigate for Vit B12 level which also has effect on memory.

Thank you
