Posted on Wed, 8 Apr 2015
Question: I have these large pimple like boils in my pubic area that just appeared all of all sudden. The only thing I have done different is switch to boxers and and I ride a stationary bike. I did have some friction on my penis and put some anti-itch cream on it. Please help. These are large and sore to the touch. There are a total of four in different places in my pubic area and one in very large and you can feel it under the skin about the size of and almond.

Brief Answer:
Lesions of folliculitis,take treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.
You seem to have developed lesions of folliculitis over the groin area.
Now these lesions are very common in this area owing to the moisture and warmth.
You need to keep the affected area clean and dry.
Wash with lukewarm saline water twice daily and apply a topical antibiotic cream like mupirocin over the affected area.
Wear cotton undergarments so as to reduce sweating and further infection.
You might need a course of oral antibiotics if the infection tends to persist.

Hope it helps
