What Causes Persistent Leg Pain After Back Surgery?

default
Posted on Fri, 11 Nov 2016
Question: I have had back problems for years. In 2005 I had my 2nd surgery where they inserted titanium rods and brackets. No laminectomy was done on the 3 disks involved. I was told the pain in my right leg was nerve damage and would reguevenate in a year. The pain has gotten worse involving my right knee and hip.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks fir the query under Health care magic . I have read it &understand your concern.
From your past history.. the damaged nerve was not rejuvenated.. but the cause of degeneration ( compression or pinching) aggravated &pain progressed. It can be-
-due to disc problem in lumber spine.as an extension of previous problem
-pressure due to rod/bracket on the nerve roots ..over the time.
- Involvement of hip &knee joints secondary to adjusted walking ( because of nerve injury)all these days
*In such condition you need to consult an orthopedic surgeon.. get examined &investigated ( MRI/CT scan)to find the exact cause of the pain followed by cause specific treatment.
I hope that informs & guides you for management Any follow up query you have.. I would be happy to help.
Thanks.
