Question: Dear Dr XXXXXXX heijebu.My father 68 years old is taking Metformin 250 for his Diabetes.Recently We got his blood work up.His Sugar levels are very high.He is not using medication properly.Doesnt listen to our words properly.Iam really worried about him.Need your valuable advice?What to do?

Early morning (5AM) -Nuts or Almonds  or  Walnuts -6 to 10 in quantity.

Breakfast:8AM

Oat flakes +MilkEgg sandwich(multigrain bread)/Vegetable oats + MilkVegetable stuffed roti + Curd/Besan cheela + Toast-1 bowl or 2 in number.


Mid morning :10 AM
Fruits:  Papaya     Buttermilk/Coconut water 1 bowl1 glass

Lunch :12 Noon
Chapatis-2/Brown rice-1 bowl and Vegetable +Curd/Dal/Paneer+ Salad-1 bowl

Evening :3PM

Fruit-1/Roasted chana and murmura chat -1bowl//Vegetable Idli -2 in number

Dinner:7PM

Chapatis-2 in number
Dal/curry-1bowl
Green salad-1 cup.


Bed time:1 glass of milk with protein powder.

This will account to 1400 to 1600 kcal which suits your father's weight.
