What Causes Persistent Back Pain Despite Taking Medication?
Question: Hi. I'm not completely better yet. I did get 6 injections in my upper back and shoulder area. In my trigger points I think. That's has help my neck right now. But I still have tightness in my trap muscles on both sides

Non steroid antiinfamatory injections, I'm still having pain in the trap muscles and shoulder and down my spine some tenderness.

I am still quite unaware about the complete problem since you have just added that you have backache and that NSAIDs have not worked.
I am assuming you have a back problem with radiating pain to some region in the body. I am assuming you have been told that the nerves are getting trapped in the bones when they exit the vertebral column- that can be expalined by kyphosis and spina bifida. And you have tried medicines including NSAIDs (not sure about the other medicines).
In the view of the above assumption and information, there are two possible options
1. steroidal injection and/or nerve blockage. Here the steroids are given at the site of nerve entrapment to reduce the edema and this relieves the nerves. Nerve blockage blocks all pain sensation thereby giving temporary relief lasting a few weeks to a few months.
2. surgeon- a skilled spine surgeon can perform a corrective surgery and thereby help you get relief.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I have tried to give as much information as possible considering the information provided.

Thank you so much. You've been very helpful. I'm haven't gotten much help from the dr here so far. The nurotentin for headaches helped for a while but now the headaches are coming back. I will check up on more info about trapeziustis. And ask my dr about it.
