What Causes Passing Of Small Solid Mass Through Vagina During Periods?

default
Posted on Fri, 17 Apr 2015
Question: I just passed a strange looking object with my period. It was a small solid mass that appeared to have a round bulbous tip with veins inside it. It also had a very long hair-like tail on it. The strange thing about it is that it was not bloody. Any idea what it could be?

Brief Answer:
possibly an abortion

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for contacting HCM ,
If your menses had been delayed and you passeda small solid mass that appeared to have a round bulbous tip with veins inside it and had a very long hair-like tail on it,then it is likely that its either a gestational sac which you have aborted or had thickened endometrium which is being shed as heavy clots. Please get a serum beta hcg test done to rule out pregnancy and this being an abortion first.
If possible you may attach a picture of the same so that it can be clearer for diagnosis.
