Question: I have what I call a panic attack, for no reason I just laughed during a conversation and I feel a lump like feeling always at my XXXXXXX apple and sometimes like a few minutes ago it triggers my heart to beat fast I checked my rate and was 122/95 with a heart rate of 155, usually a xanex helps go away I have no pains at all other than a panic feeling, Ive been to a doctor and it has not happened enough to catch on a EKG, my girlfriend is a nurse and she thinks its something about having a nerve zapped, I have controlled them well in the past I have not had one in over 3 months but today I did while just laughing?I have been losing weight with exercise and have changed my diet completely, no salt, sugar or soda and lots of veggies and weighed portions of food, over a year ago these episodes were pretty frequent much much better now but still once in awhile this happens like today, Its going away now but I'm just tired of them at all

Brief Answer:
Panic attacs

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking

Symptoms that you describe looks like panic attack.Sometimes they are similar to the symptoms of tachychardia. The fact that lopresor helps makes us think and the presence of tachycardia too

Both diseases are chronic which means that the disease in different periods may deteriorate

I will suggest you

1-Holter monitor
2-A conversation with your doctor about the possibility of change of current medication doses you receives.
3-Thyroid hormons control

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
