Brief Answer:
Normal heart rate;anxiety possibly causing slight increase within normal

Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,

Let me recapitalize your case:

- 71 years old female
- personal history of PMR
- actually getting treated with 1000 mg turmeric twice daily and 12 mg of prednisone
- pulse rate = 94; while BP=124/70

Although you seem to be worried, I assure not to.
A pulse of 94 is within normal range. Tachycardia or rapid heart rate is when your pulse gets higher than 100; yours is not.
I am happy that your BP is within normal range too.

What I suspect in your case is that you might have been getting anxious when measuring your BP and heart rate.
However, drinking coffee or other stimulating drinks can also increase heart rate.

Turmeric does not cause increase heart rate; on contrary it is indicated to reduce both high blood pressure and heart rate.

Prednisone use is often associated with increased blood pressure and consequent high heart rate. In your case, this is not happening, both fall within normal range.

All the best my dear!
