What Causes Painful Wisdom Tooth With Pus Discharge?

Question: Hi XXXXXXX My wisdom teeth is paining again since yesterday night, due to that I am feeling uncomfortable with my tongue as well near the wisdom teeth. Took at least 2 weeks course of zifi 200 and dolenex 20 mg. I am having bad smell in mouth and the puss coming out of teeth. How to stop the pain any alternate medicines you can suggest?

This is Dr. Priyanka tiwari answering your query, I have gone through your query, you have painful wisdom tooth with pus discharge, don't worry XXXXXXX Pain in your wisdom tooth with pus discharge can be due bacterial growth around your tooth that causes pus formation. That is formation of Pericoronal abscess. What I will suggest you is that -Firstly you do XXXXXXX warm salt Gargle two -three times a day that will give you releif . -On tongue you can apply any Anaesthesic ointment like Mucopain or Dologel twice daily. -Then as you don't have any medical history, or drug allergy, you can take pain killer like One Tablet Ibubrofen twice daily -Consult dentist and go for Scaling and Currettage, trimming of wisdom tooth if any sharp cusp is present on tooth.
