What Causes Painful Swelling In The Eyes?

Question: Hello Doctor

Please see my left eye, side towards the nose, there is some swollenness there and it hurts, the size has increased in last 3-4 days. What is it ? I maintain proper hygienic condition around my eye and still it developed. Pictures attached.

This is infection.As pus is pointing,hot compress twice a day and antibiotic and anti inflammatory tablets should resolve it in a couple of days.

Thanks for getting back to me.
Doxycycline 100 mg is the antibiotic of choice in lid margin infection.One tablet twice a day for 3 to 4 days,tablet combiflam twice a day and ciplox or zoxan eye ointment daily at bed time will be good for you.A s an antibiotic you should ideally have it prescribed by a registered medical practitioner.
