Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for choosing healthcaremagic for posting your query

I'm Dr. Sudhir Kumar,

I have gone through your question in detail and understand your concern.

You are most likely having shoulder impingement syndrome of left shoulder.
Shoulder impingement syndrome is a common cause of shoulder pain. It occurs when there is impingement of tendons or bursa in the shoulder from bones of the shoulder. Overuse and repeated activity of the shoulder , is a risk factor for shoulder impingement syndrome( in your case repeated change of car gear may be contributory). Over time, impingement syndrome can lead to inflammation of the rotator cuff tendons (tendinitis) and bursa (bursitis).

Oral anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, remain the most common treatment for impingement syndrome. The medicines are usually given for six to eight weeks since it often takes that long to fully treat the problem.

Avoid repetitive activities with your injured arm.

The vast majority of people who have impingement syndrome are successfully treated with medication, stretching exercises, and temporary avoidance of repetitive activity until the condition settles down.

If you have persistent symptoms, despite the use of oral anti-inflammatory drugs, your doctor may consider a cortisone-type( triamcilone) injection. It is a potent anti-inflammatory medication. I generally use triamcilone injection on such persons coming to me with good results.

If symptoms persist or if significant weakness is present, then MRI can be done to study it in detail and rule out other diseases.

You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.

Hope I have answered your query.
