Brief Answer:
Stress fracture

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing severe pain in your foot. Despite not being any trauma you could have a stress fracture of one of the bones in your foot. It can come on gradually and cause severe pain. The other option is plantar fasciitis. This is swelling and inflammation of the tendons on the bottom of the foot. It also can come on gradually and be excruciating pain. I would recommend that you see your medical provider to get an xray of the foot. You may also be prescribed pain medication or anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen. You could even start taking over the counter ibuprofen while you are waiting to see your doctor.

In summary
1. possible stress fracture or plantar fasciitis
2. Start anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen
3. See your medical provider for exam and x-rays
