What Causes Pain In The Bottom Of Feet?

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Jun 2014
Question: I have really bad heel pain. At first the pain was in the bottom of my entire foot and I had read about plantar facaitis and exercises to do for that. That seemed to work for the rest of my foot - but the heel pain is still there. More so when I get out of bed in the morning or if I wear flat shoes. Are there any exercises to do for that or should I see a foot doctor? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
You should see a foot doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello Madam,
I have read your case and it looks planter fasciitis without doubt. I have following advice for my patients with planter fasciitis.
1. You should use soft foot wear. There are ready made silicone insole available to put in shoes.
2. Calf stretching exercises, stand on toes for 2 minutes and relax. Do It 100 times daily.
3. Steroid injection in heel can work. You need to see a foot specialist for this injection. You can repeat this injection after 3 month.
4. Hot water fomentation daily.
I hope these measures will help you. Let me know if you want to ask any other questions. Thanks and take care.
