What Causes Pain In Testicle?

default
Posted on Fri, 17 Oct 2014
Question: Hi. For the past few weeks I have been having a slight, dull pain in my left testicle when I am just about to ejaculate. I am relatively healthy and recently had a physical. I also recently had an endoscopic procedure and have been taking Prilosec. Otherwise I haven't changed anything. Any ideas about what this is?

Brief Answer:
Epidydimitis or testicle inflamation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Such symptom is most likely caused by testicle inflammation or epididymitis. Due to bacteria presence in this structures the pain appears. You may have also burning while urinating or slight fever.
Always with the testicle pain it is necessary to rule out testis cancer. Please try to palpate the painful testicle for possible lump.
And even if there is no lump, you should consult urologist and have testicle ultrasound. Antibiotics seems to be necessary.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

I have felt around the area and cant seem to find any lump. Also have no burning sensation when urinating. I plan on going to see my doctor next week. He will have to refer me to a urologist.

Lack of lump is a good symptom. Testicle cancer is less possible. But still an ultrasound is necessary.

I know this sounds scary. But this is for your safety. Most likely there is no cancer out there. But to be 100% sure, you need to consult urologist. So please do not be stressed or embarrassed, there is no reason to feel that way. Just have the ultrasound done and you will have a peace of mind.

Regards.
