Brief Answer:
Gas pain

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you are having pain from gas at night. This pain is significant enough to cause you discomfort. There are may causes of increased gas production. the most common is just the type of meals you eat. Certain foods like beans and broccoli can cause excessive gas. You can remedy that by using Bean-O capsules with meals. This reduced gas production. You could also be swallowing air while eating. If you eat too fast this is a common problem. Take your time eating and chew your food well.

Another cause of excessive gas is a bacteria in your GI tract called H. pylori. This can be detected with blood work your doctor can order. If you are positive then a course of antibiotics may stop your pain.

Lastly this could be the result of your normal bacterial count in the GI tract. If that is the case then there is nothing that can be done. I know this is doesn't help but be assured this is completely normal and not anything pathological. If you try relieving your gas "discretely" that will help reduce your pains.

In summary
1. Foods producing high amounts of gas Beans and Broccoli
2. Swallowed air
3. H. pylori
4. Natural gas production
