What Causes Pain In Neck, Shoulder And Elbow?

default
Posted on Thu, 16 Apr 2015
Question: I've been having weird wave-like feelings in my head all day. May be unrelated but here are some possible things it could be related too: (1) Ive had new pain in my neck, shoulder, and elbow lately that a PT said was related to a nerve; (2) I'm getting a cold (3) I recently as of last week finished tapering off of Celexa, which I previouslu took for anxiety for the past 4 years.

Should I be worried about partial front lobe seizures, as some web posts suggest?

Brief Answer:
Cervical level nerve root compression.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to health care magic.

1. I have gone through your concern and understood the problem - i will give you some possbilities but not a definitive diagnosis.
2. As your PT said the most commonly when there are some disc bulges, there will be pressure effect on the nerve which exits from the cervical region.
3.That causes the radiating pain to the shoulder and rest of the limb.
4.Cold can be just incidental cause with no much relation with the pain. And anxiety medication not usually gives such symptoms.
5. Cervical nerve compressions usually relieved with exercises for neck. And maintain good neck posture, rest. Physiotherapy will be next option.
6.If symptoms persists you may need to get examined and treated accordingly.

Good luck.
