Brief Answer:
It can be hip arthritis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. I think that you might have entrapped nerve in scar tissue. Other cause can be due to hip arthritis as you are thinking. So I would recommend you following.
1.Get x ray of the hip joint to see if there is any arthritis. Some time it can be due to spreading of tumour in the hip joint.
2.You can share your x ray report with me.
3.If hip joint is not involved than other cause can be entrapped nerve in scar tissue. This nerve my need to explore and if there is nerve than it might need removal of fibrous tissue.
I am waiting for your MRI report. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks

Brief Answer:
You should get hip x ray and MRI

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for replying. Bone scan can give us idea if there is any spread of cancer in other part of the body specially hip joint. If your pain is due to hip problem than it will not show in bone scan and we will need MRI of the hip joint.

I understand you are in pain. But I would first see what is the in bone scan report and if it shows that your hip joint is normal than we can plan for further tests. There is no need to rush for hip replacement or any other surgery right now.

Let me know if you want to ask any further questions.

Thanks
