What Causes Pain At The Site Of Lump Removal?
Question: Hello,
An year back a lump appeared near my shoulder blade in my back suddenly and I started feeling sick (severe Nausea, stomach pain, feeling very full and throwing up). I got a CAT scan, Ultra sound, Upper GI, and MRI done but no body could tell me what it is or if these symptoms and the lump are related. I got the lump removed by a surgery and when they removed it, it was bigger than a baseball (which basically appeared in 2 weeks). Did not have Nausea and Stomach issues any more after that. Doctors confirmed that the lump is non-cancerous.
Now after an year, I started feeling pain around the area where the surgery was done from last couple of weeks ago and now starting last week I am having very similar symptoms with Nausea, feeling full n occasional stabbing stomach ache. Could they be related? Could the lump be growing back?

Can you please attach the pathologist report of removed lump in that time? Without it, my answer can not be accurate enough. Have you had also diarrhea with this symptoms?
The only way the soft tissues tumor can cause nausea, vomiting and stomach ache is hormones producing tumor. We call such tumor carcinoid. It does not appear as a soft tissues tumor, however in extremely rare cases it can give metastases to soft tissues. This is just a hypothesis which is almost impossible.
If you find the pain in surgery area, the lump can regrow indeed. Especially if not removed with margins (this should be marked in the pathologist report). Soft tissues ultrasound would be a good idea.
