What Causes Pain At Back Of Neck And Swelling On Both Side?

Question: I have following questions
(i) My wife has regular pain on back side of neck, it is happening from some days. Pain comes and goes alternate days.
(ii) There is a swelling ( which is hard) formation on Right and left clavicle while lifting of hand.

Can you please suggest for these.

Hi,

Thanks for your query.

Pain at the back of neck and swelling on both side seems to be due to muscle spasm. It could be postural or due to cervical spondolitis.
X-ray cervical spine- lat view will be helpful in reaching the diagnosis.
Doing hot fomentation and applying muscle relaxant gel will be helpful.
She can take pain killers and muscle relaxant after consulting her doctor.
