Brief Answer:
Carpal tunnel syndrome may be a cause

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query
After going through your description of suffering the most likely treatable cause is- Carpal tunnel syndrome that is nerve (Median) compression at wrist. This leads to numbness and tingling sensation in thumb, index finger and difficulty in doing fine work. May be confirmed by nerve study (EMG/NCV).
Do you have medical illness like Thyroid dysfunction and multiple joint pain as it is common in these patient.
You may take drugs like pregablin, Ibuprofen along with wrist support/brace (night splint) after having a word with your local doctor.

Take care and I shall be glad to answer any further query
