What Causes Numb Hands And Stiff Knees?

default
Posted on Thu, 26 Oct 2017
Question: For the past month or so I wake up off and on with numb or tingly hands and stiff knees. These 2 symptoms seem to be aggravated at the same time - if I have one symptom I'll have the other. Last night a hand was especially numb and uncomfortable to the point it interfered with sleep and is still stiff. What is most likely causing this. Treatment?

Brief Answer:
Rheumathoids arhritis

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
If there is involvement of mire than one area as you. said then this is most likely to be some kind of autoimmune arthritis and most common is rheumtoid arthritis. If there is only hand numbness or finger pain then concomitant carpal tunnel syndrome may exist. It would be good to do X-rays of affected areas and check you autoimmune blood factors for a start. till that try to warm up your joints every morning with exercise, apply warm. compresses and take nonsteroid anti-inflammatory medicines. Wish you good health. Regards
