Question: Hi, I'm always feeling nauseous and sometimes vomit whatever I eat or drink. And this has been going on for sometime now, I don't think I'm pregnant because I saw my period 2wks ago and expecting my next period on the 15th of this month. What could be the problem?

Brief Answer:
Acid reflux.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
Your history is suggestive of Acid reflux or acid Peptic disease.
Pregnancy can also cause these symptoms but it is suspected only in case you have any unprotected sexual intercourse. For that you need to take a Urine pregnancy test done after 10 days in case you miss your periods.
For acid reflux I would advice you to take a combination of Pantoprazole and Domperidone for a few days. Follow soft and bland diet.
Avoid any pain killers, alcohol and fast food.
In case the problem persists an Endoscopy is indicated.
However I feel from your history that you will get relief with the combination mentioned above.
I hope it helps.
If you have any further query, please ask me.

Ok, thanks...but what if I just treated malaria, and I'm also taking amoxicillin+clavulanate tablets, which was recommended by a doctor after some tests was conducted in the hospital on Wednesday. Am I to discontinue with it?

Brief Answer:
Take the combination along.

Detailed Answer:
Hi. Amoxycillin is known to cause abdominal upset and acid reflux. Take that combination along with the prescribed medicines. You will feel better in 2-3 days. Write back to me after 3 days of treatment.
Good luck.
