Question: I was down with high fever and cough and flu( blocked and runny nose) since about a week ago and then the past few days i couldn't even taste my food. Yesterday, lower teeth started to ache and it gave me a really bad headache and it went off and came back today. Can you tell me why is my gum and head hurting so bad?? and though i had been taking flu medication, i am still not able to taste and smell.

Brief Answer:
Possibly secondary infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello Vin,

Welcome to HCM.
Viral infections produce nasal congestion and blocked nose and this along with the infection impairs the taste, This would return once the infection is clear. Do not use Iliadin drops for more than 5 days, There is rebound nasal congestion with the same.
Headache may occur as part of the viral infection of if you have developed a sinusitis as a secondary infection.
Examine your mouth in a mirror. Let me know if you see a small sore on the gum, it is the cause of gum ache.
You are welcome to get back to me with further query, if any.
Wish you a quick recovery
