What Causes Muscle Twitches In The Left Buttocks?

default
Posted on Mon, 12 Jun 2017
Question: Yes, i have been experiencing what I believe is muscle discomfort that starts on my left lower buttock and then may go down to behind my knee. I thought maybe I needed to replace my walking shoes which I did but no change. At night I can't sleep on that side too long. It is not painful but a discomfort feeling.

Brief Answer:
Slip disc, nerve compression

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for the query

It is possible that you may be having a slip disc which is pressing the nerve travelling from your spine, via the buttock to the leg.

I suggest you get an Xray and MRI of the lumbosacral spine to confirm.

Avoid bending forwards or lifting weights. Apply hot packs to the affected region.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Regards,

Dr. Aashish Raghu
