Brief Answer:
Left lower abdominal pain with gases / Under Evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Hi Dear !!
Read and reviewed facts of your query in context to your health concerns of pain and gases in left lower abdomen. With the limited information, you seem to be a case of Acute / On Chronic Colitis with Constipation, as you have pain and gases in left lower abdomen.

Please update more info as follows-
Have you had street/ or hotel food lately before you started this pain and gas problem?
Whether you had recent travel before this health issue started ?

Do's Suggested to find out the cause of this pain-
Consult with your family Physician and get his physical examination report.
Get Stool Ova / Cyst done.
IF need be Consult Surgeon for anal examination / and proctoscopy to rule out any undetected proctitis / fissure in ano/ hemorrhoids.
If need be, should get CT Colon study to rule out Crohns'/Diverticulitis.
If indicated, Colonoscopy from GI endoscopist would resolve this issue.

Awaiting for more info and further query in this regard.

Good Day !!

Brief Answer:
Left lower abdominal pain with gases -from Entero-Colo-Proctitis

Detailed Answer:
Read and reviewed your query and feel concerned about your health issues.

My presumptions told in last reply have come to and are being confirmed by your update information and by tests done so far. My impression of -Colitis with Constipation is confirmed by your updates and submission of travel out of USA after which this lower abdominal pain started. Therefore, your symptoms are mostly from traveller's food induced Entero-Colitis with Proctitis causing burning off and on, and is caused by food taken during your out of USA travelling

I understand you were tested and reported normal. But you have not yet done Stool-Ova/ Cyst, which you missed out. The stool test would have helped rule out infections of amoeba or giardia.

At this point, your symptoms seem to be improving. I will suggest the following do's:
1. Be on Bland non spicy diet / and plenty of fluids x 2 weeks
2. Skimmed / watery thin sore Butter Milk x 2 times / day x 2 weeks would recoup the disturbed bacterial flora.
3. Diet suggested-Reduce solid food intake for 2 weeks and be on semi-solid , low on vegies, more on rice porridges diet.

If your symptoms don't resolve over the next few days, I will recommend you consult GI-Surgeon and get Colonoscopy done to rule out other causes such as-undetected Colonic Diverticulosis and growths, needs to be ruled out. Please note that this is only a precautionary work up,for your advanced age, where these causes need to be kept in mind, while planning treatments in cases like you.

Hope this reply would help you to plan further treatment in your intriguing case of yours, with help of expert doctors there in your place.
