Brief Answer:
Yes it is reversible

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

The use of risperidone in particular leads to elevation of prolactin as side effect. The elevated prolactin causes difficulty in erection, decreased rive and low libido. Fortunately the side effects is completely reversible on discontinuation of risperidone.

This is just a side effects and hardly takes place in less than 10-15% of patients receiving these medications. I mean to say that it is impossible to sterize sex offenders with these medications and they are not used for this purpose.

I hope this helps you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards.

I am experiencing dry eyes, dry lips and mild discomfort in the lower back discomfort in the morning. These symptoms were present while I was taking the aformentiomed meds. How much longer will I experience these symptoms since I have ceased taking the afore mentioned medications about a month ago. Thank you for your patients in answering my inquiries. Brief Answer:
Not more than 3 months

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXX,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

In my experience the anticholinergic side effects (dry mouth, dry days etc) will disappear in a period of less than three months. I am not sure whether mild discomfort in back was due to either of medicine so it is difficult to comment on that part.

I hope this clarifies further.
