Brief Answer:
needs evaluation, provide more information

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. I can understand your concern.

Your history about your wife suggests that she is suffering from anorgasmia. It is a type of sexual dysfunction in which female cannot achieve orgasm despite adequate stimulation.

There are many causes:

Physical causes: medical diseases ( diabetes and neurological diseases), gynecologic issues, medications ( blood pressure medications, antihistamines and antidepressants).

Psychological causes: mental health problems, such as anxiety or depression, stress, guilt about enjoying sexual experiences, past sexual or emotional abuse, relationship issues.

She has also pain during intercourse.

Pain during intercourse may be associated with many factors, including:

- Insufficient lubrication: This is often the result of not enough foreplay. Insufficient lubrication is also commonly caused by a drop in estrogen levels.

- Medications: Certain medications are known to inhibit desire or arousal, which can decrease lubrication and make sex painful. These include antidepressants, high blood pressure medications, sedatives, antihistamines and certain birth control pills.

- Injury, trauma or irritation: This includes injury or irritation from an accident, pelvic surgery, female circumcision or a cut made during childbirth to enlarge the birth canal (episiotomy).

- Inflammation, infection or skin disorder: An infection in her genital area or urinary tract can cause painful intercourse. Eczema or other skin problems in your genital area also can be the problem.

- Vaginismus: Involuntary spasms of the muscles of the vaginal wall (vaginismus) can make attempts at penetration very painful.

From this information let me know more about your problem.

- How did problem start? Was there any specific incidence or happened gradually?

- Do you feel that there is any cause present from above explanation?

- What is her opinion? Is she complaint about not having orgasm?

- Is there any problem in relationship?

- Let me know her menstrual history also.

- Have you consulted any doctor yet?

- Does she have any physical problem or is she taking any medications?

I will be happy to help further after your response.

Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.
