I would explain as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that it is normal to have a lower blood pressure during sleep, because of the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system.

What did she feel during this episode? Did she wake up to go to the bathroom, or just felt palpitations?

Dehydration because of the hot environement and profuse sweating could be the cause of low blood pressure too.

Does she suffer from high blood pressure? Is she taking any medication for the moment? You should know that low blood pressure could be related to antihypertensive therapy.

Anyway, if this problem repeats, I would recommend consulting with her attending physician and perform some tests:

- a resting ECG and cardiac ultrasound
- a chest X ray study
- some blood lab tests (blood electrolytes, fasting glucose, kidney and liver function tests)

Meanwhile, I recommend taking plenty of water to stay well hydrated and avoid staying in hot places or in standing up position.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
