Brief Answer:
Vaginal infection should be treated properly.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

According to your information, light orange discharge with itching or odor is MOSTLY suggestive of vaginal infection (fungal/protozoa). Do a vaginal swab test and routine PAP Smear test.

I suggest you to use Vaginal Suppository or Capsule (combined Clindamycin, Tinidazole and Clotrimazole) like CLINGEN FORTE at bed time for 7 days. You should STOP estrogen cream or tablet (if used) for short period.

PREVENTIVE MEASURES:

1) Use VAGISIL cream to avoid vaginal infection in future and maintain genital hygiene properly.

2) Wear only COTTON clothes. Don't wear tight fitting clothes to avoid friction/ irritation. Take sound sleep adequately.

3) Take healthy diet with anti oxidant (like Vitamin -E or C, Selenium, Zinc etc) supplements. Drink plenty of water or juice for better systemic circulation. You must LIMIT Salty/ Sugary/ Fatty foods.

4) Avoid chemical cosmetics, perfume or scented bath products around genital area. Keep the area dry.

Hope, I have answered your query. Wish your good health and take care.

I misspoke in my initial question. There is no odor or itching or discomfort. Would you still answer the same way?

Brief Answer:
Do vaginal swab test and routine Pap smear.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for your response with corrected information.

If there is no odor and itching, possibilities that it could be due to Physiological (sometimes) reasons such as mental stress, hormonal imbalance, Exercise, Change in diet, Medications, Poor personal hygiene, Certain types of clothing exists. However I will order for a vaginal swab test and routine Pap Smear test to rule out underlying pathology or infection if any.

2) MANAGEMENT: a) If there is vaginal infection (detected on swab test), you must use vaginal capsule or suppository for 7 days as mentioned previously.

b) Eat plenty of phytoestrogenic foods, such as soy and flax seed, to help replace the missing estrogen. Drink more water.

c) Topical estrogen cream can be useful for maintaining of lubrication. Maintain genital hygiene properly.

d) Take a shower as soon as possible after a workout or strenuous activity, as sweat and moisture can create an environment for possible infections.

e) Wear cotton underwear to improve air circulation around the vagina. Keep the area dry as much as possible. Follow rest of the preventive measures.

Hope, it helps for your information. Good luck and take care.
