What Causes Large, Red And Swollen Lumps On Forehead While On Effexor?

Question: We are in holiday in Italy and it's very warm (30+). My husband is taking Effexor XL 225mg and has developed a swollen right eye with red large lumps on his forehead and scalp. It's inly on his face. What could this be?

It could be due to allergic reaction to the medicine or due to unknown insect bite. Can you upload a photograph so that I am better able to help?

I give Antihistamine tablet containing Levocetrizine twice daily and corticosteroid tablet containing Dexamethasone 5mg twice daily ,anti inflammatory tablet twice daily to my patients with similar complaints. Dexamethasone requires prescription and can have side effects.
It will come down.
Please consult a local doctor, get him examined clinically and get appropriate prescription.
