Posted on Mon, 1 Aug 2016
Question: I had low fever and was kept on antibiotic for three weeks but fever( maxm 99.4 degree f) came many times during the day and becomes normal within an hour. I have been withdrawn from the antibiotics and the doctor said that this is antibiotic fever. Now the profile of temperature reduced and temperature in morning at 6 am is 97.6 degree and during day to night it varies from 98 degree to 99.2 degree many times. Some times it does not match with pulse rate. Pulse varies from 68 to 80 during the period. My age is 64 yrs and am a smoker. Does my temperature will become normal with in few days after withdrawing the antibiotics I am diabetic and bp patient. Both are well under control

Brief Answer:
hello dear. your temperature's are normal.now

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to HCM. I have read the details and i think you suffered from acute infection which is now over. You have normal temperature in the morning and evening as well. The evening temperature is slightly higher than morning due to the daytime activity and metabolism level. So no need to worry.
Your pulse is normal as well. Please quit smoking.
Just enjoy your time and record temperature only when you feel like running a temperature.
Thanks and regards
