Question: When I cough.....I have spasms so intense throughout my torso (chest, kidney area),both upper thighs and upper arm area. How do I manage that?

Is this a chronic cough or something recent due to an infection? The main way to treat this would be to treat the cough. If it is due to an infection, are you coughing up discolored sputum or have a fever? In that case you may need to see a doctor and have an antibiotic. Is it due to taking an ace inhibitor type of blood pressure medicine? Then a switch to a different blood pressure medicine is needed. Do you have allergies?

One of the best medications for persistent coughing is anything with codeine, such as guaifenesin with codeine.

If you can tell me more about the coughing - when it started, what other symptoms, how frequently you cough, is it a single cough or a series of coughing, fevers, allergies, discolored sputum - then I can be more specific in my answer.
