What Causes Inflammation Of The Legs While On Metoprolol?
Question: woke up this morning with one foot much redder than the other. Did come back from a two day road trip which probably did not help. 70 yr old female. No known heart problems, but am taking metoprolol tartrate 25mg 2/ dy hi blood pressure medicine the past month after I had an a-fib issue in the hospital after a ileostcomy? procedure.

Redness is a sign of inflammation. you can take an anti inflammatory as Ibuprofen tablets 200mg every 8 hours after food for next 2-3 days. Take plenty of rest. Keep the foot a bit elevated specially when sitting and lying down.
If your foot develops any pain or swelling then you should get a Doppler study to exclude any underlying ischemia.
