default
Posted on Mon, 6 Apr 2015
Question: my husband's report says increased viscosity, delayed liquefaction, moderate tail to tail autoagglutination & 8% normal acrosome bearing, can IUI be successful in our case or shall we go for IVF? will there be medical treatment to this in case we wait and undergo medications for normal conceiving process. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Semen culture and sensitivity test

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concerns about increased viscosity. I have gone through the uploaded report.

Increased viscosity and prolonged liquefaction are suggestive of semen infection. Increased agglutination is also due to same reason.

He needs to undergo semen culture and sensitivity test to diagnose the organism causing infection and take the antibiotics medicines as per sensitivity report.

You can conceive normally or IUI with this report. No need of IVF as of now.

Let me know if you need any more clarifications.

Brief Answer:
Repeat semen culture and sensitivity test

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

There is no growth in the attached culture report.

I suggest you repeat the culture and sensitivity test again from a standard laboratory and take report with you along.

If no organisms are grown in culture, ask dr. XXXXXXX to prescribe broad spectrum antibiotics for your husband which she will do.

Dr. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX can advice on your husband's reports too.
