Brief Answer:
Proper burping is essential

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Usually children do not feed well when ill or when something is not right. Children often ingest air along with their feed. It caused distention and discomfort for which the child cries. Try giving Decolic Drops 6 drops if the child is crying. It helps in reducing abdominal distention and provides relief. Proper burping is essential. Hold the child upright for about 20 mins after each feed. You may continue applying Nasoclear and Sinarest. If these measures do not help, taking the child to a pediatrician should be a better idea.

Hope that helps.

Brief Answer:
Proper technique is important

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.

Get him checked by a pediatrician. I do not think that he would find anything wrong. But it will give you a peace of mind. Many children have a habit of taking feed in mouth but instead swallowing starts crying instead. But such a thing is seen during spoon feeding sometimes during bottle feeding. If you put the child on the breast, such a problem is less likely. Breast feed the baby at intervals of 2 hours or when the child demands. It should be done for 20 mins, not more. Use the breasts alternately, one breast completely for one feed, moving to the other breast for the next feed. The entire areola should be put in the mouth of the baby. If proper technique is used, spitting or crying during feed is less likely.

Your food gets translated into the food of the baby. Avoid medicines that are not to be taken during breast feeding a baby. Otherwise you can take all sorts of food.

Brief Answer:
Direct observation is essential

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Its good to hear that the pediatrician did not find anything wrong. Whenever the child is crying, definitely he is seeking something, something that he is unable to find while you feel that the child is crying without any reasons. I have a strong suspicion that there is some problem in technique for which the child is ultimately crying. However, it is really hard to comment on such a thing without a direct observation or without handling the baby directly.

Brief Answer:
Stool frequency in children of this age, can vary

Detailed Answer:
Its good to hear that you have found out the reason behind the crying. It is absolutely ok for a child to pass stool once in 10 days or even 10 times a day. Both are equally normal and nothing needs to be done about it so long as stool is not hard and pellet like. You can take hotel food or any form of food so long as it is ok by health standards.
