Brief Answer:
These nail changes are related to psoriasis

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

I have gone through your query and I have also reviewed the Image.

Horizontal lines / depressions / indentations or ridges across the fingernails are also known as Beau's lines. They are usually seen at the same level and across multiple nails.

It is believed that they form as a result of temporary cessation of cell division in the nail matrix. Once the patient recovers from illness the matrix again starts producing normal nail.

These lines can occur after a systemic illness and are not specific to psoriasis.

Vertical lines/ longitudinal lines along nail plate is also known as Onychorrhexis Or brittle nails.
It is one of the nail changes that can be seen in psoriasis among other changes like nail pitting, subungual hyperkeratosis etc.

Acrylic nails won't cause Beau's lines

Hi.

Acrylic nails won't cause Beau's Lines, however, vertical lines/onychorrhexis can be a result of excessive/ repeated use of acetone used to remove acrylic nails Or from excessive use of soaps etc.

Can chronic stress cause Beaus?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Dr. Kakkar (10 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Chronic stress will not cause Beau's lines

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Beau's lines are usually caused by a short lasting stressful situation e.g systemic illness like jaundice Or Typhoid Or Psoriasis in your case etc and are due to transient inhibition of cell division in nail matrix causing horizontal ridges in the nail plate.

Once the patient recovers from that illness normal cell division ensues in the nail matrix.

These lines are not caused by chronic stress
