What Causes Headache, Shoulder Pain And Neck Stiffness?

Question: I was in a car accident, although I did not hit my head, I have constant headache, neck and shoulder pain feels like I have a stiff neck, I was sent for cat scan and given blood pressure medication, I guess my pressure shot up from the incident being that I was so nervous, I was given emergency blood pressure pill to bring it down only apx. 2 hours later while driving, I litterally blacked out so Thankful I passed out at the red light with my foot pressed on the brake, A passerby knocked on my window and woke me up. I was so afraid, I could have been in another accident. are those symptoms related to whip lash from the car accident?

Even if you didn't hit your head, some degree of concussion may happen due to abrupt movements of brain inside the skull.

Stiff neck and shoulders pain may be justified by whiplash.

So, whiplash and concussion may cause those symptoms.

Another possibility, since you blacked out, is lowering of blood pressure after blood pressure pill use.

It is necessary to rest for some days and to monitor your blood pressure.
