What Causes Headache On Frontal Lobe Along With Stomach Cramps?

Posted on Thu, 26 Mar 2015
Question: My husband has not felt well for two days. He says he has a "bad" headache around the outside of the frontal lobe (both sides). He has not eaten all day (not hungry), has gas, stomach cramps, but no other problems.
He also says he just feels bad all over. Should I take him to the emergency room?

Brief Answer:
Please take him to emergency room

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
A headache that is severe and persisting for two days might be a neurological emergency. It is also possible that he has an electrolyte disturbance like low sodium and potassium due to not taking food and drinking adequate fluids in the past few days and that is causing the symptoms. Less likely he might be having a flu.

Please take him to the emergency room and make him drink adequate amounts of water and fresh juices to prevent dehydration.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
