What Causes Hair Loss While Treating Scalp Dysesthesia?

Question: Dear Dr kakkar,
Thank you for your email.
I am using Gabapantin 300mg three times a day and it been 5 weeks so far. My wuestion is the pain in my scalp releated to hair loss. Will itimprove when the hair loss get better. Is thereaby other possible treatment if my condtion did not get better after 3 months. Thank you again.

Scall dysesthesis is not directly related to hair loss. It may happen without accompaning hair loss.
You may try either Amitriptyline (10 mg or 25 mg, twice or thrice daily, dose titrated according to response) or doxepine hydrochloride (10mg or 25mg, once ir twice daily) for your dysesthetic symptoms.
