default
Posted on Fri, 10 Feb 2017
Question: I get Frequent Head aches. Its like almost every day but sometimes its severe and I will not be able to concentrate. Its not like one part of the head but the entire part. I get Headache when I don't eat on time, when I am in the sun for long time, sometimes when I watch TV. Its been like this for more than 20 years. I had an injury on my head when I was 2 years of age and from that time I had eyesight and headaches. Eye specialists say that headache is because of the eyesight.

Brief Answer:
Neurologist opinion is important.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It sounds terrible to have daily headaches and I am sorry for the symptoms you have. Are you able to carry daily routine? Do you have nausea and vomiting as well? What is the type of pain, pulsating or pressing? How long does it stay each time? What medicine do you take to abort the headache, if you take any?

Are you using glasses continously for important and precise work? Are you getting the refraction checks every year? If there is no problem with errors and not changing frequently it is unlikely a cause of headache. What is your blood pressure?

You should seek an opinion from Neurologist in that case. You may need a scan of the brain to rule out serious reasons. At the initial assessment looks to be tension headache or migraine.

Yes, iam able to carry out my daily routine and there's no nausea or vomiting. The pain is pressing and it stays for a couple of hours and sometimes the entire day.

I use glasses always except for when iam sleeping and have the checkups once a year. My blood pressure is normal but sometimes a little less. Whenever I give blood donation they say that the BP is low and ask me to have a cup of tea so that my blood pressure comes to normal and this works.
