What Causes Frequent Abdominal Pain?

default
Posted on Sat, 10 Sep 2016
Question: For the last 6-7 days, I am having frequent stomach pains. This usually happens when I eat something (other than fruits and vegetables) and is accompanied by bowel movements. I think this is mainly when I eat even mildly spicy XXXXXXX food. I don't drink alcohol, don't smoke, am a vegetarian and have been in the US for the last 2 months.
For the last 2 days, I have been taking fruits and salads for breakfast and lunch and usually it stays normal during this time. But for dinner, even if I eat anything mildly spicy, I usually have to go for bowel movements (no loose motions) and this is accompanied by stomach pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I read carefully all your concerns and I can say as follows :
1. Your symptoms may be related with :
- gastric issues like gastritis/ulcer
- acid reflux
- acute gastroenteritis
2. If I were your treating doctor I would suggest to continue using Nexium and take care of your dite as below:
- avoid salads, lemons, vinegar,
- avoid spicy foods
- try to eat often and small amount of meAl
- eat 3-4 hours before going to bed
- use antacids like gaviscon
- try to use homemade foods
- avoid citrus fruits
-avoid unnecessary stress
If the symptoms continue more that 3 weeks than you need to do upper endoscopy.
