Brief Answer:
mandatory to get a mammogram

Detailed Answer:
Hello, I understand your health concerns.
It is very important to get a mammogram done after the appearance of new symptoms especially in her case because she has -
- History of Cancer
- Perimenopausal age
- Appearance of new symptoms.
Get the mammogram done and visit your gynecologist at the earliest.
All the best.

We will do .
But can a new cancer show up during a period of two months since the Last scan or this is just to know if new cysts has show up or grown in size.

Brief Answer:
necessary investigation

Detailed Answer:
Yes there are two possibilities -
- new growth has appeared in already prone region due to cysts existing since 10 years
- already existing growth which was subclinical at the time of CT Scan has grown now and causing symptoms.
So due to history of rectal cancer she needs to be extra cautious in dealing with her minor symptoms also.
I hope this discussion will help you in deciding further management.
